Sample Business Marketing Plan

Find your Niche and Dominate it.

The sample business marketing plan that we will use use is very short and to the point.

It is very focused because you need to be very focused.

Using this business marketing template will take you from the initial purpose of your marketing to the final decision of how much you're going to commit (both time and money) to your plan.

When you are finished, and it shouldn't take real long, you'll have a clear vision of your goals, your methods and what it will cost you.

Don't let this be an exercise of theory, make your plan, implement your plan and enjoy the fruits of your labors.

1. Your Marketing Goal is:

Don't be vague.

What exactly do you want your customer or prospect to do?

  • Go to your website?

  • Pick up the phone and call you?

  • Come down to your store?

  • Call a phone number and ask for Is and punch in a code?

  • Email you?

  • Redeem a coupon?

If you aren't specific as to what you want your customer to do how can they possibly do it?

Secondly, how many of these's actions do you want to occur daily, weekly or monthly?

Make your goal achievable, measurable and within a timeframe. We want 25 calls a day, so that we can set up 10 appointments resulting in 2 sales.

You now have a time frame and a realistic goal that is trackable.

    2.Your Unique Selling Position is:

What makes you different from your competitors?

Put yourself in your customers shoes and ask why should I choose you over all the other people that are offering the same product or service?

    What makes you stand apart?

Don't say we are better than the other guy.

Don't tell me you pursue excellence and have integrity.

Don't think you'll get my business because you're salespeople are happy and smile.

    Those traits are expected.

You should smile at me .

    You should have integrity.

You should be better than your competition.

I want to know what is in it for me. Make it outstandingly clear of what separates you from the next guy.

What was Domino's primary focal point in their advertising years ago? It's no longer even used but you still remember it. Delivered in 30 minutes or less or its free.

    That set Dominoes apart.

What benefit from your product or service will meet your customer's needs or wants in such an outstanding way that they would have to be crazy to choose anyone else but you to take care of them?

Show your benefit as the best solution to your customer's problem. College students wanted a hot pizza ( not necessarily the best tasting pizza) and they wanted it fast. Domino's said they would do that in under 30 minutes. Case closed.

You may have several advantages over your competition but now is the time to think the one that stands out the most. Let your customer focus on that, let that be your mantra, let that be the hook for bringing in your customers.
