Nam et ipsa scientia potestas es .....

Knowledge is power.

Short latin mottos have been used throughout history and engraved on personal seals as early as the 13th century. In the 15th century men would go into battle with mottos adorning their standards.

Latin motto means "It is tossed by the waves, but does not sink".

I suppose that paints a bit of a picture of today’s battle for business as you carry your personal seal (business card) with you.

That is kind of stretching it isn’t it?

It would give a new meaning to slaying the competition and giving a knock them dead presentation wouldn’t it? (Sorry, I'm getting carried away with this.)

Using Latin mottos on your business card can be a very effective and attention grabbing focus point. Your goal to is to connect with your prospect and latin mottos are an excellent way to do that.

What did you say?

What do these words mean?

Well I'm glad you asked that Mr. Prospect. These words are the core belief, the bedrock of our company. Acta non verba ..... Action not words We don't just talk a good talk. We get results!

Latin mottos gives a touch of old world charm and aligns your business with present day realities. The quote you use can be about anything. Take famous Latin motto from the past or create a motto specifically for your business purpose. Fortitudine et Prudentia means With Strength and Prudence (maybe you could use it in a exercise studio?)

You could personally use Dominus illuminatio mea which is the motto of Oxford University and means the Lord is my light. That might not meet a plumbers need though. Perhaps he could use “In aqua victoria” which means.. in water victory!
Smiling yet?
