Business Card Advertising
Business card advertising can take on a wide array of forms. I believe the best way is when you are belly to belly, eyeball to eyeball with a perspective customer. In my mind this wins hands down because of the ability to create a personal connection between you and your customer. There are other ways to get your card into the hands of your customer.
1. Bulletin boards are normally found in restaurants, stores, libraries, bathrooms( do you really want to touch those cards?), Union halls, colleges, employee lunchrooms and on and on. Not only can you get your card out but you can get an education in the process from these business card dispensers. 2. Stand-alone cardholders These offer prime real estate for your card. Normally you find them near cash registers in stores and restaurants. If you really know the business owner or perhaps by offering referral fees there is a good chance for an honorable mention from the owner as a customer is paying the bill. Nothing beats having a personal recommendation from someone that knows you. 3. Service vehicle card holders When you are on a service call to solve someone's problem you can't hang around your chart to promote your business but your card can. Simple, clear, waterproof boxes attached to your vehicle can hold your cards and give potential clients information they can take with them. *Profit Point* Give them a good reason to call you with... today's special offer free reports mailed or online a discount on the first job free estimates today while you're in the neighborhood4. Mail out / Shout outs It's nice when checks come in the mail but sadly checks must go out too. Why not take a little pain out of the moment by knowing you are actively seeking new customers. Simply add your card to your payment of water bills, electric bills, cable bills and any other payment that would be received a human. It only costs pennies and could return dollars. * Make your cards stand out by having a hand written (or pre-printed) sticky note attached to your card. 5. Throw ups (of the good kind) I have read where some entrepreneurs will go to sporting events with a pocket full of cards. Every time their team scores they will jump up and shout while tossing their business cards in the air. They have claimed good results, though hard, sharp card corners and soft eyeballs would make me a bit nervous. 6. Business card punch If you staple or stick your business card to a document it loses some of its pizzazz. The perfect solution is creating a custom fit for your card with a card punch. Line up the card, punch four slots through any lightweight or heavier paper stock with this gadget and you have a very professional look. Classic simplicity at its best. You can attach your cards to brochures; door hangers; file folders; letters; reports; book pages; and many more.
